Istanbul Gas and Natural Gas Distribution Inc. (İGDAŞ) was established on December 25, 1986, with the participation of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, IETT, and several other partners to provide natural gas infrastructure, distribution, and operation services throughout Istanbul. As of 2013, the company had reached a total workforce of 5,420 employees. Ownership of the company is distributed as follows: 94% belongs to the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, 5.46% to IETT, 0.03% to Hamidiye Inc., 0.03% to Istanbul İmar Inc., and 0.02% to İsbak.
